Twelve more to go and other stuff.

Danielle is well on her way to attaining her goal of 100 comments for the month of July here on this blog! It’s such a joyous occasion :D Think you know which day she’ll hit 100? Get your guesses in now before it’s too late!

In other news a friend of mine named Tek from years past contacted me tonight about something he and I did together years ago that I had totally forgotten about. Tek is a trance and techno artist going by the name of Teknotic. Several years ago he asked me to do some spoken word vocals for one of his songs. He just uploaded it tonight to Trax In Space. The site is however in beta mode, so unless you have a beta key to join with, there’s no way for me to link to the song right now. I’m hoping Tek will consider letting me host it here for everyone to listen to.

Trax in Space is a site I worked at years ago along with Tek. Primarily my job there was music reviewing. I was in charge of a group of literally thousands of reviewers. I also ran a column each week featuring up and coming new artists. Occasionally we also produced a bit of music. The site unfortunately collapsed during the whole dot com bust, but its founder and creator is attempting to make a comeback with it. Best of luck to him.

Also tonight I borrowed the first and second seasons of Ren and Stimpy from my cousin. I’m totally geeked to be able to watch them again. I used to love the show so much. Any other Ren and Stimpy fans out there?

I miss Ren. And I miss Stimpy too. I never see them on TV anymore! :(

I miss them too. I can’t wait to watch again :D What was your favorite episode?

Clearly the one where they go to Canada!

I used to love watching Ren & Stimpy. Some of the episodes were off the wall crazy. I wasn’t a big fan of the animation, but the story writing was awesome.

I also used to watch a lot of Ren and Stimpy. I have their 1st and 2nd season DVD. I haven’t made it all the way through them yet, I kinda stopped watching the DVDs after most of the first season.

As for my favorite episode, well, it is any episode that features “LOG!”

“What rolls down stairs alone or in pairs
    Rolls over your neighbor’s dog?
What’s great for a snack and fits on your back?
    It’s Log, Log, Log!

    It’s Log, Log, it’s big, it’s heavy, it’s wood.
It’s Log, Log, it’s better than bad, it’s good!
Everyone wants a log! You’re gonna love it, Log!
Come on and get your log! Everyone needs a Log!”

Bucky I loved that bit! It was re-run overhere in the Netherlands about a year ago. My now 13year old thought Ren and Stimp RULE. I agreed.

LOL…We were watching some of the episodes at my cousin’s place last night and singing along to the log song :P

My favorite episode though is the Space Madness one where Stimpy is forced to push the history eraser button. Good stuff :D

I love Ren and Stimpy! It was well ahead of it’s time and paved the way for a lot of stuff out there. BTW, my favorite episode was when the “Ben and Stumpy” show was created. I’ve never laughed so hard at something in my life. I think it also trumped my #1 TV moment, an episode of Mr. Belvedere.

    Did someone say Mr. Belvedere?!

  10. Mike 24 July 2007 at 11:29 pm Permalink

I used to watch Mr. Belvedere all the time. Good stuff!

I almost bought Mr. Belvedere on DVD… almost mind you.

It seems like they have replaced all the really good shows with reality TV… ?

Hehe..not just seems like. They have :P

Which is really too bad because reality TV causes a negative physical reaction in me. I also miss Pinky and the Brain, I loved that cartoon and they had a catchy song.

I can’t stand all the reality tv crap. Apparently a lot of people love them though, which means we can likely look forward to them for many years to come. Ugh.
