The 1000th commenter!

HelenA couple weeks ago I decided when this blog received its 1000th comment I would make a post and give some love to the person who makes that comment. I should have been paying closer attention to my comment stats because the 1000th comment was made 5 days ago. Whooops  I’m happy to announce that the 1000th comment on this blog was made by Helen of HelenChatter.com!

I met Helen on the PayPerPost forums not too long ago and she’s definitely one of the nicer folks there. She’s a bit of a dreamer and an extremely talented artist who likes to dabble in both illustration and photography. You should take a moment to stop by and check out her work. Her macro photography is particularly impressive. Oh and Helen will also be getting married soon!

I’m pretty sure I’ve missed a couple of her sites as she owns several but that’s a pretty good introduction to Helen’s world at least. Thanks Helen for not only a new blogging friendship but also for taking the time to stop by here and leave your thoughts on my silly little posts :D

    *utterly jealous* … pfffthh

    tehe!

That is awesome! Congrats on 1000 comments!!! :D I still have like 400 to go.. HAHA!

  2. Mike Says:

Hehe…I couldn’t believe I got there so quickly and when I did remember to check today the number stood at 1,123 :-o Wow.

Very nice. I was just telling my wife that I would feature my 1500 commenter haha. Must be a telepathic link there somewhere.

  4. Mike Says:

Haha…I most likely would have ended up doing the same if I hadn’t checked today to see how close I was to 1000 :P

  5. Danielle (33 comments.) Says:

I had another comment written but I forgot to do the math! And it said: “You’re not very bright, are you?” :P

But anyways, that’s great Mike! 1000 comments is incredible.

I have almost 400, but I am pretty sure a majority of those are my comments.

BTW off topic - I Gummy eats a gummy bear is that cannibalism? Or does the bear/alien difference cancel that out? What are your thoughts?

  6. Mike Says:

I get the not very bright thing every now and then as well when I forget to log in

That’s a good question, Danielle. I would assume since they are of different species that it would get canceled out…hehe

So I just tried commenting and I forgot to answer the spam question (for the first time lol). :P Now I have to start over. That’s kind of ironic considering this post is about commenting. Haha!

    Anyway, as I was saying…

OMG!! I am so honored, and horribly lucky! Haha. For r.mm, I still have a couple of hundred to go for the 1000th commenter, and for hc.com, I think I still need to reach my first 100. Haha! :) Congrats on getting so many comments and I am truly honored in this post. :D You’re so awesomely nice too!

  8. Mike Says:

Hehehe…I’m thinking I really need to dump the math thing and go with Akismet but I’m totally paranoid about it. You should see all the porn spam my math question catches on the comic site :(

Thanks, Helen :) I was pretty delighted to see the 1000th comment was made by someone other than me…hehehe. That would have been silly to make a post giving link love to myself

I don’t get oodles of traffic here, but perhaps you’ll see a few more comments for at least a couple days while this is still on my front page :)

  9. Lori (3 comments.) Says:

YAY HELEN!! She has some awesome sites!!!

  10. Mike Says:

Indeed she does :) I’ll eventually be featuring her art blog on BlogsWeLuv during the Blogathon :D

  11. Mark (138 comments.) Says:

Dude, you’ve already reached 1,000 comments!?!?! That’s awesome! I haven’t seen any pingbacks, so I’m guessing those are truly comments, which makes it even sweeter. Great job and congratulations Helen on your prize (Mike, you are giving her a prize, right?) ;)

  12. Mike Says:

Trust me I can’t believe it either…lol. Of course this blog really is just a bit over a year old now :)

Er…prize? Ooops. I suppose I should have thought of that

  13. Helen (24 comments.) Says:

Prize? Did someone say prize? *ears perk up* ;)

  14. Mike Says:

    Hehe…Now look what you’ve started, Mark :P

  15. Mark (138 comments.) Says:

Oh how silly of me. I meant to say “surprise” as in “…congratulations Helen on your surprise.” I’ve really got to slow down when I type. :D

  16. Mariuca (54 comments.) Says:

1000 comments, WOW!! That’s awesome! Wonder if I’ll ever get there he he and what a nice surprise for Helen :)

  17. Mike Says:

Oh I’m sure you will, Marzie, with all that schmoozing you do..hehe ;)
