1408 – A new tale of fright from Steven King
I’ll admit I’m a pretty picky guy when it comes to horror movies. So many of the films today focus far too much on gore and not enough on fright. Anyone can write a story that grosses people out, but not just anyone can write a story that truly makes you want to sleep with the lights on and causes your hair to stand on end. One of the most prominent writers of horror is of course Steven King. I’ll never forget the first time I watched the classic film Creepshow. I was too young by movie ratings standards to be watching, but that didn’t stop me. To this day it is still one of the creepiest films I’ve ever seen. Who could forget those nasty cockroaches? I had nightmares for weeks after watching that film and I still can not eat corn flakes all these years later. Then there was Cujo. Who needs creepy monsters when you can just scare the pants off people with a relentless, rabid dog? I actually just recently watched Cujo again after many years and it was still just as effective in freaking me out now as it was when I was 9 years old. That’s what sets Steven King apart from so many other horror writers. His work is timeless. If it scared you more than twenty years ago, there’s a good chance it’s going to scare you now.
King has penned the story to so many excellent films throughout the years and now he returns with another tale of fright in the 1408 Movie starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson. It’s the story of a renowned horror novelist whose written a number of bestselling novels discrediting the existence of an afterlife and the paranormal. Will his beliefs change after a stay in suite 1408 of the Dolphin Hotel? Have a look at the very cool trailer!
I’m hugely interested in the paranormal so as you can imagine I can’t wait to see this one! John Cusack has always been one of my favorite actors and it goes without saying just how good Samuel Jackson is, so the 1408 Movie should be a real treat. Would you dare stay in room 1408?

Looks interesting. Probably be a good movie since Samuel Jackson’s in it.
I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve been a big fan of John Cusack ever since that cornball movie Better Off Dead years ago :D
Math has never been a favorite subject o-mine.. just FYI *points to spam control, haha*
I cannot wait to see this movie! I’m excited to see two of my favorite actors in it and the trailer rocked! I know I’m going to be there opening night here!
Haha..it’s never been a favorite of mine either, that’s why I made it reeeaally easy :P
I’ll see this, not only because it’s a Steven King film, but because I *love* John Cusack. Yes, I’m a creepy stalker like that.
I have a fascination with the paranormal as well, and I love Stephen King! My favorite book of his is Desperation.
I’ll see this movie for sure!
Do you watch all the ghost shows on tv? I can’t get enough of them :P
Mike, I certainly do. But you know that already! I really like the spooky fiction series like Ghost Whisperer, Tru Calling, Supernatural, and Medium. Those shows rock!
