Guess who made the 2000th comment!?
Aug 1, 2007 Blogging, Link Love
So I had been planning to give a little link love to the person who makes the two thousandth comment here just as did for the 1,000th commenter, Helen. Of course as usual as I wasn’t paying attention as 2,000 passed by a week or so ago. Whoops  Anywhooo, so here I am announcing the 2,000th commenter 1 month after announcing the 1,000th!
The 2,000th commenter on Ordinary Folk was - *drum roll*
Danielle of Pink Internet Marketing!

I can’t say I’m surprised considering if you looked up the word schmooze in the dictionary there’s a good chance Danielle’s picture might be there. This girl gets around the blogosphere like none other making great comments wherever she goes. Danielle is without a doubt a Queen of Schmooze. My blog is often linked back to and I’m given credit as the creator of the Power of the Schmooze award, but this bothers me because there would be no award if Danielle hadn’t come up with the initial concept of what the award should look like. I simply took her great idea and helped polish it off. So for all you schmooze back linkers out there, give Danielle some love! She deserves just as much credit for the schmooze as I.
I really adore what Danielle is doing and has accomplished already with her blog in such a short time. Her style of writing is intelligent, very witty and quite often laced with just the right amount of silly. I’ve always thought that one of the most important ingredients to having a successful blog is being able to infuse it with your personality thus making it stand out amongst sea of blogs with its unmistakable charm. It should be obvious when you read Danielle’s blog that she does just that, doing an exceptional job of dosing Pink Internet Marketing with her unique personality, making it an enjoyable experience and a place you want to return to each day.
Stop by and say hello to Danielle today and don’t forget to congratulate her on not only making the 2,000th comment, but also for making a record 100 comments on Ordinary Folk for the month of July. If you’re lucky she just might find her way back to your blog and leave 100 comments for you as well :)

Okay, it’s a new month and I’m planning on keeping up with Danielle, which is actually the only reason I’m leaving this comment right now. Let’s see who reaches a hundred first this month:)
August 1st, 2007 at 2:35 pm
@Marzie: I know! I couldn’t believe how quickly 2,000 comments got here :-o
@Danielle: Hehe. So you liked the little blog review? :P
@Christy: Good luck! If you can out-schmooze Danielle that will be quite an accomplishment :D
August 1st, 2007 at 2:55 pm
It’s the nicest blog review a girl could get!!! :) It’s nice to know that I am appreciated by an A-List blogger such as yourself… and you did say some really nice things that make me soooo happy!
@Christy - Oh, but Christy this month the goal is 200.
August 1st, 2007 at 3:03 pm
Haha…to be an A-lister I’d have to make a bit more than the current $0 a month I’m making with this blog :P
I’m happy you liked the review :) I had a feeling when I went sorting through the comments to figure out who made number 2000 it would be you
200 comments, eh?? Better do some finger stretching exercises, Christy!
August 1st, 2007 at 4:33 pm
I am probably comment #2001 too… :P
August 1st, 2007 at 4:38 pm

Congratulations to Danielle!
Now, Mike, where are you? I’m on Yahoo sending blind messages, and you’re not there. :(
August 1st, 2007 at 5:59 pm
@Hernan: Thank you! Maybe I can hit 3000 by next month..hehe :D
@Tish: I was munching :D
August 1st, 2007 at 6:47 pm
Mike- Then you’ll have to write a whole lot more posts for us to comment on! :D
August 1st, 2007 at 7:41 pm
I’m trying but I’m just one man. I have cartoons to draw as well :P
August 1st, 2007 at 8:02 pm
200? (Gulp) That’s pretty extreme Danielle, rofl! Well this comment makes me up to three so…ummm…only 197 more to go:)
August 1st, 2007 at 10:05 pm
I am into “extreme blogging”… There is actually a laser that sweeps through the room as I blog and if I let it hit me it trips the alarm and the room fills with gas.
August 1st, 2007 at 11:47 pm
Yes, I know! Danielle is blogging on a room filled with lasers, step pressure sensors, temperature sensors, 4 thermographic cameras, one heart beat sensor and a lot of tanks filled with neuro-toxic gas. Ah…I forgot the blogging nano-machines implanted on her brain, those nano-machines are programmed for schmooze. :) LOL
August 2nd, 2007 at 12:23 am
Haha! It sounds like a movie!
August 2nd, 2007 at 6:12 am
2000 comments is a great milestone for your blog. We all should have expected that it would be Danielle though!
August 2nd, 2007 at 6:40 am
Haha yeh I didn’t really think it would be any huge surprise to anyone that Danielle made the 2000th comment
She’s quite the prolific commentress ;) New word!
August 2nd, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Haha! Commentress! I love your new word! :)
August 2nd, 2007 at 2:13 pm
Wee! Maybe we can get it added to Dictionary.com :P
August 2nd, 2007 at 2:16 pm
So does that make Danielle the “Comment Empress”? hehehe
August 2nd, 2007 at 3:13 pm
I believe it does  She’s already the queen of schmooze, so comment empress seems like a good fit as well ;P
August 2nd, 2007 at 9:49 pm
Mike, look at this fine post you wrote. You are the Sultan of Schmooze!
Forget about technorati. Forget GooglePR, Alexa.
This thing is big enough now, seize the opportunity: introduce the ultimate global blog ranking system: Ordinary Folk Schmooze and Comments Index, soon known (and cashable;p) as the OFSCI-ranking.
August 3rd, 2007 at 4:24 am
Hahaha…I don’t even think I could even remember all of that well enough ;P
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:52 am
Once you’ve made it to the Top5K, you can hire someone to remember stuff for you :p
August 3rd, 2007 at 11:08 am
This is true. They’re already going to be playing golf for me ;P
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:30 pm
Now you wake up and go to the registration office and registrer this OFSCI ranking. I’m serious, Mike. There is an opportunity to set up some new blog-evaluation system, in terms of comments, schmoozing capabilities, visitor friendliness, visior retention, etc. i.s.o. ‘cold’ numbers. And as you and Danielle have managed to get such a big momentum on the P-o-S award, wy not?
August 4th, 2007 at 1:52 pm
WOOHOO HOO! Congrats!!! Boy, you sure do get those comments running fast!
August 4th, 2007 at 6:07 pm
@Jos: I don’t know if I have that kind of ambition though..lol. I already spend most of my time creating little aliens and brainstorming how they take over the world :P
@Helen: Hehe…I guess people like me. They really, really like me :P
August 4th, 2007 at 9:16 pm
Why Mike, that’s exactly what the CEO of Technorati is doing all the time! :)
August 5th, 2007 at 12:26 am
I mean, brainstorming how to take over the world, that is.
& Dddddamn, I lost MY #1 ranking EXACTLY between Shift and PrtSc. They MUST be watching me..
