My five strengths as a writer and artist
I think Tish tagged me for this meme about three years ago, or at least it feels that way. I really seem to suck ass lately at keeping track of these things. I’m thinking I should start using the WordPress dash notes plugin a little more often and keep a to do list. That would be too easy though, eh?
Anywho the point of this meme is to list five strengths you possess as a writer/artist, while resisting the urge to highlight your weaknesses, then tag four others to do the same. I can do that. Here we go…
- I’m a musician and I certainly consider music to be art, so one of my strengths musically has always been the ability to play melodies by ear. All I have to do is listen to something a few times and I can eventually begin to figure out how to play it. I can read music a little bit, but it’s definitely easier for me to just play it by ear.
- I like to think I draw pretty good aliens ;) Since I was a kid, I’ve always had a knack for drawing cartoon characters.
- While I know I do have talent as an artist, I’ve always felt another strength I possess is humility. I don’t get arrogant about my work. I feel like as an artist there’s always more one can learn regardless of your level of talent.
- As a writer I think I’ve always been a pretty good story teller. I have a love for creative writing which is probably why.
- Also as a writer, I believe I do a decent job of infusing humor (when necessary) into the things I write. Ironically I used no humor in that last sentence. Go figure.
