Thinking Bloggers

As I mentioned the other day, Adria presented me with my very own Thinking Blogger Award. Now I’m ready to hand out some hardware to a handful of other very deserving bloggers.

Thinking Blogger AwardI sat here for a while and thought about the best way to do this. Really every blog I read makes me think in one way or another. If they didn’t I wouldn’t be reading them, right? Sooo, I decided I’ll hand out the awards to folks whose sites not only set the hamsters spinning on their wheels inside my head, but also to those who contribute most often here or have influenced the way I blog since I began to really take it seriously. Also I’ve tried to choose people who I *think* haven’t received this award yet. If any of you have, then consider yourselves lucky that you’ve just received it a second time! I hope everyone will consider this fair. If not feel free to sue me or something ;)

Without further ado I present my five Thinking Blogger Awards to the following blogs.

  • MeAndMyDrum – Mark is a great guy and a great blogger as well. Whether he’s introducing you to handy little software gadgets or letting you know precisely how he feels about people afraid to touch bacon, you’re sure to find something worth reading.
  • Christy’s Coffee Break – Not only do Christy and I comment often on one another’s blogs but we’ve also had the opportunity to chat via e-mail as well and I can easily say she is one of the kindest and most generous bloggers I’ve met. Christy may be statistically on her way to “A-list” status, but don’t expect her to turn into some huge diva with an over inflated blogger ego. She’s as down to earth as you can get.
  • Brown Thoughts – I love the Baron’s blog. He tends to dabble like myself and write about a little bit of everything, but what I enjoy most is his ability to find some of the coolest gadgets this side of the blogosphere. Add to his gadget finding ability a great sense of humor and you’ve got an excellent blog worthy of a slot in your feed reader.
  • Mariuca – If you haven’t met Marzie yet you should really take the time to stop by her blog and say hello. I guarantee you she’ll respond with a kind and warm reply. She’s the kind of person who always has knack for making you smile even on your worst, most grumpiest days. She also happens to have the most adorable cat I’ve ever seen.
  • The Kat House – Last but certainly not least, Tish! My blogging partner for the upcoming Blogathon. Ever met someone and instantly become friends with them? That’s how it was with Tish and I. We have so much in common it’s almost silly. She’s super kind, has a big heart, writes exceptionally well and is awfully darn pretty ;) I’m a guy. I had to throw that last part in.

So there you have it. It’s now up to you all to pass along awards to blogs you feel deserve them, if you’d like. Here’s the rules to your mission, should you choose to accept it.

  1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think.
  2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme.
  3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative gold version if silver doesn’t fit your blog).

I’m all smiles today because I’ve been awarded The Thinking Blogger Award by 2 talented Mariucans who have been my strongest supporters since day one – Bobby Revell and Mike. It’s such an honour to receive this award from both of you and it gives me absolute pleasure to pass on The Thinking Blogger Award to these 5 wonderful bloggers:

Cool, Mike! I appreciate this. :) A nice father’s day gift for sure.

  8. Mike Says:

@Marzie: See that’s how you make everyone smile  You’re welcome :)

@Mark: Pretty good timing, eh? I of course meant to do that ;)

  9. Christy (196 comments.) Says:

Holy wow, first of all, thank you Mike for thinking that I think. LoL. I appreciate what you said, geez, that’s nice. :)

I don’t know about the down to earth thing, I just checked my technorati and it’s in the 15,000’s and so I’m going out to buy one of those little dogs to carry in one of those little purses. Blogging is for the elite you know… ROFL.

Do I sense blogger love in the air? Okay, I’ll mind my own business….lol. But I could use a “bloggers falling in love story” right about now. (The story of Mike & Tish ~ It all began with a blogathon). (Sorry, I just can’t resist..:)

  10. Mike Says:

Hahaha…It’s the fact that you think that makes you truly special, Christy

I’m catching up to you on Technorati. I’m around 32,000 now, so save one of those little purses for me…er wait…

Haha…naww we’re just friends :) It’s really neat though when you meet someone and immediately click, as if you’re operating on the same brain frequency or something :P

  11. Mark (138 comments.) Says:

@Christy: LOL, that’s too funny! I can see the movie trailer now, “In a world where chaos rules and time stands still, two souls reach out across the chasm of evil to herald the coming of new love. She, a woman of hope and likes to get her eyelashes permed. He, a man who called her huge by mistake — there was no stopping the inevitable!” ROTFL!! :D

  12. Mike Says:

OMG, I nearly peed. That was freakin’ hilarious  I could hear that deep movie trailer voice as I read it.

  13. Christy (196 comments.) Says:

Oh Mark (sigh) that’s sooo romantic….lol.

That is so cool about your Technorati ranking Mike! But…umm….just don’t start thinking about getting a little dog…..you know…. that whole……i8yerpuppy thing, I just don’t know….

  14. Mike Says:

Ehh, it’s just a clever name :) I don’t think I could really eat a puppy. I don’t have the patience to pick all of the fur out of my teeth.

  15. Christy (196 comments.) Says:

    ROFL!!!!

Your blog makes me think too, therefore you totally deserve that thinking award! Totally! Plus, that darn header with zee aliens is so cute. Did I say that already?

  18. Mike Says:

    @Magus: Thank you! And you’re welcome :)

@Helen: That’s why this blog is here of course, to sharpen your mathematical skills :D

You might have mentioned it once or twice ;)

  19. Brown Baron (114 comments.) Says:

Can we have James Earl Jones do the voice over for the trailer?

  20. Mark (138 comments.) Says:

    [10 minus 2 is, er...got it!]

Yes, James is has quite a voice. But my favorite is Don LaFontaine, the true movie trailer guy. http://www.donlafontaine.com

  21. Mike Says:

Haha..that’s who I was thinking of Mark. The guy from the Geico commercial :P

Good choices too I must say, and congrats on the award, lord knows you deserve it!

  26. Mike Says:

Hey, why didn’t I ever comment about this? I think it’s hilarious, especially with the recent turn of events! If you had never called me huge and then taken great steps to apologize, we may have never gotten the chance to run toward each other in slow motion through fields of daisies! Ahh, a priceless moment indeed.
