Impressive would be an understatement

Every so often I love to scour the web looking for new music from artists I’ve never heard of. Believe it or not I’m not always looking for metal either. Years ago I used to play a lot of acoustic and classical guitar, so naturally one of my loves is acoustic guitar. Today I stumbled onto one of the most impressive acoustic guitarists I’ve seen and heard in a long time by the name of Antoine Dufour of Canada. There are quite a few videos of him playing on Youtube. This one really blew me away. Check out the slap guitar technique towards the end. Freakin’ brilliant.

Talented indeed. This is the kind of thing that makes most guitarists want to burn their guitars and give up ;P

Hi, very nice video. On youtube, check out Peo Kindgren, if you have not so far done so. He makes lovely tone colours in his playing, very easy on the ear.

Two other guitarists you might like, in classical guitar, Karin Schaupp, and Simon Dinnigan. I recommend both very highly.

Dang, he’s good. I love his use of harmonics throughout the piece. So beautiful.

    Shine on,

Nice piece! I’d like to hear more of his work! He has a Leo Kottke influence. I really like the way he smoothly integrated the right hand harp harmonics into moving lines without losing any continuity!

    Have you heard Jake Shimabukuro?
