Blogathon 2007 doors are officially open!
Jul 5, 2007 Announcements, Blogging
If you read this blog regularly you’ll recall that I’ve talked a few times about the project I’ve been working on with Tish called BlogsWeLuv. This is where we’ll be blogging for the upcoming Blogathon on the 28th of this month. We’ll be required to blog for 24 straight hours making a new entry every half hour. Why would we do such an insane thing you ask? To raise money for our charity, The Glaucoma Foundation! I’m happy to announce that the doors are now finally officially open to the Blogathon and Tish just registered BlogsWeLuv this morning as a Blogathon participant.
If you’ve visited the BlogsWeLuv site and appreciate what we’re doing there, we are now officially accepting pledges. Your donations to the Glaucoma Foundation will go directly to the charity. Neither myself, Tish or Blogathon handles the money. For every $5 donated you’ll earn one entry to win a $25 gift card from Amazon.com, donated by Tish and I!
Also don’t forget to submit your answers for the Ten Questions feature on BlogsWeLuv which is open to all blog owners!

And here I was with 5$ thinking: How should I spend my money?
Consider yourself sponsored! :)
July 5th, 2007 at 7:27 pm
Nice. I might submit my blog.
July 5th, 2007 at 7:31 pm
@Danielle: Awww, yay! Thanks, Danielle :D
@Andy: If you decide to do it, ya might want to sign yourself up pretty soon so you have time to gather pledges :)

Holy crap, every half hour? Dang. You’re insane!
July 5th, 2007 at 10:13 pm
Hehehe…thanks for your support, Helen
July 5th, 2007 at 10:18 pm
I think I am may join in – if anything I can hit up family members and say: “Hey you have not had to sponsor me since Jump Rope for Heart!” And then I will have a reason to stay up and read BlogsWeLuv! And also, if anyone says “Hey you blog too much” I can say “But it’s for charity”.
Every half hour sounds like fun!! O_O!!!!
July 5th, 2007 at 10:24 pm
If you do decide to do it Danielle, you should give Tish and I your YIM or MSN names that way we can all keep each other up :P
Even if ya don’t do it you’re welcome to help us stay up. We’re probably going to need all the help we can get…lol.

Holy crap! Every half hour?! Well gl and nice to see ppl doing something for a good cause!
July 5th, 2007 at 11:03 pm
You guys doing practice runs? Hehe
July 5th, 2007 at 11:07 pm
Haha, practice posts? Nah I think we’ll just be jumping right into it on the 28th :P
July 6th, 2007 at 5:30 am
I’m going to be watching that for sure. Maybe I should get my 3 kids to practice cheering haha.
July 6th, 2007 at 11:41 am
That’s great that you’re doing this for charity!
July 6th, 2007 at 11:45 am
For sure – I could read a blog post every 30 minutes! A reverse blogathon!
July 6th, 2007 at 11:49 am
@Christy: Hopefully I’ll still think it’s great after staying up for 24 hours :P
@Danielle: So then you’re going to help keep us awake? :D
July 6th, 2007 at 9:31 pm
I am totally in! I will even use CAPS LOCK so I will be shouting to make sure you don’t doze off! :P
July 7th, 2007 at 7:32 am
Hehehe…that’s probably more likely to just irritate me, but it’s worth a shot :P
July 7th, 2007 at 11:12 am
Okay no CAPS LOCK then – there is nothing worse than being tired and irritated! Except if it is tired and hungry because that is the worse since it’s really hard to eat and sleep at the same time, and I really messy too.
July 7th, 2007 at 11:25 am
Hehe…so perhaps instead of caps lock you could donate food to the cause :D
July 7th, 2007 at 11:52 am
Yes – but you can’t fall asleep with the food because I once feel asleep eating a chocolate bar and I don’t even want to talk about what I woke up to. :P
July 7th, 2007 at 1:18 pm
Oh you can’t just say that and not tell the rest of the story :P
July 8th, 2007 at 4:25 pm
Good luck, guys! My family will be sponsoring. :)
July 8th, 2007 at 4:27 pm
Question: I clicked on the link for pledges, and got a log-in page asking for email and password . Is this right?
July 8th, 2007 at 4:51 pm
[...] Your page is on StumbleUpon [...]
July 8th, 2007 at 5:13 pm
I think so, yes :) Tish and I pledged under our login name there, so I’m pretty sure you’d just need to create a login name for yourself. Perhaps we should let people know that on the site..hehe.
July 8th, 2007 at 5:15 pm
I woke up covered with melted chocolate and the wrapper stuck to my cheek!!! I must have fallen asleep on top of the chocolate and the warmth from my body must have caused it to melt. And as a result of me moving around in my sleep it got everywhere. It was not a pretty sight at all, and no amount of soap could ever wash that image from my mind. Needless to say no more chocolate in bed.
So during Blogathon 2007 make sure that you practice safe chocolate eating.
July 8th, 2007 at 5:22 pm
Hehehe…that sounds like quite a mess :P
We will do our best to eat chocolate responsibly ;P
July 9th, 2007 at 11:58 am
I like the idea, and I will do it if I can do advanced posting. I’m off to check out the website to read the rules. If that is unacceptable consider yourself sponsored.
July 9th, 2007 at 12:19 pm
Hehe…I’m pretty sure it’s against the rules, Opal :) They expect ya to be right there actually posting for the entire 24 hours. I’m going to have to eat my Wheaties that day, for sure.
