Happy Blog Day!
If you’re a blogger perhaps you know that today is the third annual Blog Day. The main idea of Blog Day is for bloggers to recommend other blogs throughout the blogoshphere to their readers. It’s a great way for folks to expand their list of daily reads and perhaps discover great new blogs previously unknown to them. The premise is very simple. All you’re required to do is list five blogs you like to read, write a short summary about each and make your post! There are a couple more smaller requirements, so if you’re thinking about participating, check out the Blog Day website for the complete list of detailed instructions to participate.
Now then let’s get to it, shall we? Here are five blogs I recommend others should consider reading today :)
- Courtney Tuttle – I actually discovered Courtney’s site just about a week ago…maybe even less than that. I was doing a blog search on something or other using Google and his site popped up in the search. I found myself hanging around and reading for at least a good half hour. There’s some seriously excellent content on this site that is especially useful if you have any aspirations of making your blog profitable.
- Revellian – I probably don’t mention Bobby’s site here near as much as I should. He’s definitely one of the classier people you’ll find in the blogging world. Bobby tends to blog about a little bit of everything, and often his posts are excellent resources for newbie bloggers.
- Totally Fabulous – My very excellent friend Christy just recently launched her new blog. Being the good friend I am I of course figured I’d use my Blog Day post to let you all know about it :) This is a site geared more towards the ladies featuring beauty tips, style trends and celebrity gossip.
- Yack Yack – Rob Watts is one of the nicer folks I’ve come across in the blogosphere. Primarily he writes about SEO related topics but he does it in a way that’s not at all pompous and pretentious like so many of the SEO bloggers out there. In short he doesn’t come off as being full of himself and I like that. You’ll also find some occasional tech related posts and other little tidbits as well. Don’t be afraid to ask Rob for advice either. He’s a good guy.
- Susan Suarez – I’ve only been reading Susan’s blog for a short while but I can see it becoming one of my daily reads. She tends to lean mainly toward blogging and web tips, as well as technology related info. It’s a good read.

Happy Blog Day 2007! Please stop by my Blog Day post and leave your link!
I was not aware there was a blogday.
Thank you so much Mike! I was just coming over to get a URL to give YOU some link love. Thanks for being so incredibly awesome! :)
Thank you Mike! I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed an incoming link (one of the coolest stock features of wordpress, bye-bye blogspot and good riddance lol) from you. I actually had a guy tell me, “Anyone can write newbie tips and if you knew anything advanced, you wouldn’t be.” Well, he was right in a way but there are far more advanced tips than newbie tips available and I do it because I like to help people. Courtney’s blog is great but it’s been a while since I looked at it. I haven’t seen the others. Christy has a new blog and I can barely keep up with one :smile:
Oh yeah, Happy Blog Day!!!
Whoo Hoo,
This is very cool. I must play along on this one.
Thanks for the info, Mike.
@Debo: Well now you are :)
@Christy: You’re welcome! I do my best to support my blogging buddies :)
@Bobby: You’re welcome, buddy :) You’re right it’s tough to keep up with all of Christy’s blogs…lol :D
@Christin: You’re welcome =) I thought it was pretty cool too. I only just learned about today as well :)
Hi, Mikey! Long time no chat! ;)
I’ve presented you with a new award. Mwah!
I’ll be participating though late. I want to highlight new blogs. I wish I had of heard about this sooner.
@Tish: You’re nice :)
@Rose: Better late than never…hehe
Hey Mike, thanks very much for the kind words. Your blog is looking good, is my memory failing me or have you had a recent little rejig with the layout and design?
Hey Rob! You’re welcome :)
Annnnd yep, I did a little makeover again..lol. I tend to get bored of things if they stay the same for too long :P
Hey Mike, I took another look at Courtney Tuttle’s blog and I agree, there is some extremely valuable information there. I was actually kind of blown away by the way he delivers information. I think given another year, he may be blowing John Chow out of the water. Anyway, very impressive. I get a lot of great ideas from you, I added a sitemap tab like yours because internal linking is forgotten on many blogs. Thanks Mike, have a great week!
Hey Bobby! Hope you’ve been well :) That’s just the thing. I’ve never really thought John Chow had all that much to offer as far as really educating people. He’s more about bragging than teaching. People like Courtney are doing a much better job of actually informing and helping new bloggers to learn.
I just added that sitemap recently..lol. For the longest time I’ve felt like something was missing and that was it :P
