By nobe is aww pwugged up

gummygrump2.jpgYes, I realize that headline is rather fubar, but isn’t that about how we all sound when we get a nasty head cold? The translation would be “my nose is all plugged up”, and indeed it is. Since Friday I’ve been dealing with a very stubborn head cold which has begun to migrate into my chest as well. I’ve been throwing enough Tylenol and Theraflu at it for three people and still I sneeze, cough and wheeze and have enough snot to last me a lifetime. It’s not a pretty sight.

I have fortunately found solace in two very wonderful things, Halo 3 and Ravioli. It’s very therapeutic when you’re feeling lousy to be able to fire up the Xbox, pop in the Halo disc and fling grenades at anonymous gamers online. Of course it goes without saying that tasting anything when you’re sick is difficult. I’ve discovered however that I can actually taste Ravioli and this makes me stupidly happy! Without these two things I might be more miserable than I already am.

Scorecard:
Annoying Germs – 1
Sickly Me – 2

I feel bad because I have things that need finishing but all I really feel like doing is eating my ravioli, playing Halo and sneezing. Oh and sleeping, which I’m doing plenty of as well. So what do you do to pass the time while sick and perched atop a heap of slimy tissues?

Sorry, can’t help you. I never have time to be sick.

Sick or not, it’s always go, go, go. Never a break, never any rest.

    Drink lots of OJ
    Drink lots of NyQuil
Play a ton of video games,
Whine to my wife like a 2 year old.

I use it as an excuse to do absolutely nothing! Just take it easy Mike, I hope you feel better soon:)

Hot baths always make me feel better.

    Get well soon.

Yeah, I’m with Tish. I like scalding hot baths. But no bubbles, I’m strangely allergic to them. Go fig. *shrugs*

    …Halo 3 + Raviolis!!!, Wow, what a MIXXXXX !!!

But I advise you try to do not play video games for a long time while you`re sick `cause your body defenses will get distracted, ….really ;-), read books and drink a lot of orange juice.

@Bucky: Pshh, fine. No ravioli for you then ;P

@Baron: Thanks, bud! Definitely getting a lot of sleep :D

@Bush: LOL. I gotta find me someone to whine to ;P

@Christy: Thank you :) I’ve definitely found it as an excuse to do nothing..hehe.

@Tish: I’ve been taking nice hot showers. I suppose it’s sort of the same thing :)

@Hernan: Haha…that’s pretty good advice actually. I’ll try not to let my defenses get too distracted ;D

Hope you get better soon Mike! I’m actually with Bucky on this one in that I never get sick either. Well, I guess I won’t say “never”…I did get some kind of bug last year, but that was the first I’d been sick in about 8 or 9 years! Trust me, I was NOT happy about it.

As for treating it, I just drank plenty of fluids (beer included, LOL) and tried to go about my day as normally as possible. :)

Hehe…awww, thank you Princess Marzie :P Since when did you become a princess anyway? hehe

  12. Mike 10 October 2007 at 6:24 pm Permalink

@Aaron: I don’t get sick often either. Maybe once every couple years. When I do it really kicks my ass ;P

Mmmm… ravioli and video games. Take away the fact that your nobe is pwugged, and that would be heaven.

I have to admit it was pretty darn nice ;P Well except for having to put the controller down constantly to blow my nose. That part was kind of annoying.

I hope you’re better by now Mike. Video games are a fun way to pass the time when you’re sick. Once, when I was a young girl, I faked being sick so that I could stay home and play Sonic =)

Erina: I’m doing a little better now, thanks :) That sounds like as good a reason as any to stay home…lol.
