Yet another very cool and useful WordPress plugin.

Mengu over at Rebitran.com has put together another very interesting WordPress goodie. If you remember he’s also the author of the super slick AdIcons plugin. Well now he’s written CaptchaThis, an anti-spam plugin with a pretty original concept. Instead of the usual math question you see quite often, Mengu has put together a system that requires a reader to read a question like “Which is the picture of the dog?” and then click on the corresponding image. If they choose the wrong image, they can’t post a comment. Cooool. I’d like to see a spam robot figure that one out.

    Hey Mike!
    Thanks for the post :)
I just dropped by to let you know that I updated the plugin to include a text-mode challenge too. You add a question (Like “say ‘hello’!”) and an answer (like ‘hello’) and that becomes the captcha.

Even more confusion for the bots ;)

That sounds equally nice Mengu :)

I still like the picture idea the most. I was thinking of trick questions I could do with the pictures. Like put up three pictures of well known politicians and ask “Which one of these people is evil?” I guess if want people to actually leave comments though, I should make it a little simpler :P
