Every now and then I like to check out out my blog value for the heck of it. I’m sure there’s no real exact science to a website’s value and the number this site provides is likely way off in one direction or another, but it’s still neat anyway especially when you see a nearly $18,000 increase in the value of your site since the last time you checked :-0 The last time I checked the value was just under $13,000 and now it’s creeping towards $31,000. Pocket change compared to what a lot of large sites out there are worth, but hey not bad for a site where I blog about random junk and post cartoons.
Considering it was only a few days ago when I last checked on my site value, I wonder where the huge increase came from? Maybe it helped that I got a nice link from a PR5 blog thanks to the little article I wrote about MyBlog and how it makes the internet feel smaller. Thanks Robyn! :D I was really delighted to learn that my article actually struck a chord with her and the rest of the MBL team. How cool :) It’s a nice feeling when you can write something and have it affect others in a positive way.
Oh and if you haven’t already, go check out the latest Gummy comic! I had to get that plug in, of course ;)

I’ve tried figuring out what drives that “blog worth” widget (I use it too), but haven’t got a clue. I know it’s tied to Technorati somehow, but it’s odd that on one day my blog’s worth is $##,###, then on another it goes to $#,###.
But I’ll admit that there is some satisfaction seeing a dollar amount attached.

That’s just the thing. I can’t possibly imagine I could find anyone actually willing to pay 30 grand for this domain ;P
Perhaps when it hits a million I’ll be able to sell it. A guy can dream :D
