There’s no better number to represent spam than this

Admittedly it’s been a few days since I’ve purged my Akismet folder of spam comments so the number has grown rather large. Seriously though, is there any number that better represents how truly annoying and evil spam is than this?

Evil spam
I got a bit of a giggle out of that one. I know I should definitely purge my spam comments more often, but for the sake of humor I’m glad I didn’t.

    LOL! That’s fun.

    I recently had my 1666th spam busted by Akismet. I do delete them more quickly because sometimes I get legit. comments in there. There’s one person I really like and her comments are ALWAYS eaten by Akismet. It sucks.

    Haha! That’s awesome.

    I have a few legit comments that end up in spam as well.

    Did a voice come out of the computer too Mike? HAHAHAHA!

    Do you notice different spam on your different blogs? It’s so weird. I get no porn spam on my Pond, it’s 99% about pills. But my blog carnival gets the most hideous stuff ever! Really weird considering the content there.

    Umm…Mike….I think you should have thought twice about that meeting with Satan…

    ROFL!

    I’ll have to break out my old Iron Maiden album and listen to
    “The Number of the Beast” after reading this! My friend Seiche wrote a very cool post about spam you should read. Make sure you read the replies he made to the spam, it is bizarre:

    I think you’ll like it:)

    I just checked Askimet, and it as blocked 6,768 spam comments from my blog.

    I used to get 50+ spam per day that I would have to check and purge from askimet b/c some legit ones would get canned.

    I have since installed Bad Behavior which doesn’t even allow the bots access to your comment form. Now I get about 2 spam messages per day, and trackback spam is virtually non-existent anymore.

    Yay!

    @Tish and Linda: I have legit comments that often end up in there as well, which it makes it even worse than I get so lazy about cleaning the thing out ;P

    @Polli: You wouldn’t believe the amount of porn spam I used to get on the Gummy site :(

    @Christy: I think you’re probably right ;P

    @Bobby: I’ll go have a look see! Thanks :)

    @Bucky: Ya know I actually tried that out a while ago but it wouldn’t play nicely with some other plugins I had running :/

    @Baron: Indeed it is, and the screenshot proves it…lol.

    So what was the 666th one, Mike? It’s gotta be the most evil of all evil SPAMs right??!?

    Haha…I totally forgot to even look and see what it was ;P
