Yeh, I know, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything new here. Between a very extended case of blogger block, Grifball and getting ready to move to a new place the end of this month, I haven’t had much of an itch to do any blogging. Fear not though, I’m not abandoning this blog. I’ll still make posts when I find something that inspires me.
Such is the case this morning. While hopping around the interweb, I stumbled onto an awesome new plugin called UBD Block Ads which helps you easily manage your 125×125 ad boxes in your Wordpress sidebar.

With the use of this plugin, you’ll no longer have to fuss with your sidebar every time you want to switch out ad boxes. You simply login into your Wordpress dashboard, drop your ad box code into the UBD admin page and update. That’s it! On top of that you can even have the ad boxes rotate. How cool. I currently have the plugin installed on BlogsWeLuv and it works beautifully.
If you’re someone who sells 125×125 pixel ad space on your blog, or does affiliate marketing, this plugin is a must have, without a doubt. It should go without saying that UBD Block Ads will definitely make your blogging life easier.
Currently you can only display two columns of ad boxes. I’d love to see the plugin updated in the future to also allow for three columns. Also it should be noted that as of right now, the plugin is not compatible with Wordpress 2.6, however the authors are working quickly to make it compatible.

Plugins, plugins, plugins. I honestly don’t remember the last time I updated any of my plugins, and now that I’m back blogging “regularly”, I know it’s something I need to do. Though I’ve been thinking lately of getting rid of my ad spots since I’m not really trying to fill them at the moment. *shrugs*
Hope you’re doing well Mike!

Hey Mike!
Is that two columns and at least two rows?

@Bush: I’m pretty good at slacking with updating plugins as well. Sometimes I don’t really worry about it though as long as they’re working the way they’re supposed to ;P
@Mark: Hey bud! Yep, you can have two rows. I tried it out briefly on BlogsWeLuv by setting the number of ads to 4 and then dropping in the code for 4 ads. You can also go in and edit the CSS in the plugin’s code to reduce the margins around the ad boxes, if you want less space between them. It’s a really nice plugin
Ever since I had a major database malfunction, I have an aversion to plug ins, but this one looks useful. I want a plug in that only shows my adsense ads (the ones in single.php) to people that found that post through a search engine query. Do you know how to do that?
@Bobby: Hey, Bobby! I actually do exactly that on one of my other sites. I followed the tips from this site to learn how to do it. Hopefully it will help you as well
Thanks Mike! I checked it out - apparently I haven’t been smart priced yet. I think I’ll wait until I start getting .10 or click or less. So far, I’m averaging .29 per click but it’s the clicking part I need improving on…lol

Hey Mike!
I got a question for you and I am hoping you can help me out. You see me and my uncle want to play xbox live together. He has never had a live account, but I have one. Recently, he made an account of his own on my xbox360 using his own gamertag and his own email address. We both thought that since we have live we can play, so we put in Call of Duty 4 and I signed onto my account onto the controller that I had and he signed into his on the controller that he had. We got into a game and it turned out that I was the only one allowed to play. It wouldn’t let him play even though he was signed onto his own account on a different controller. When we saw that it didn’t work we deleted his account on live (he had a free trail and so do I) and then I went back because a friend of mine said to let him use a guest account. Well when I went back I didn’t have a guest account, so now me and him are stuck and we really want to find a way that we can both play on the same console at the same time. So can you please help us. Thanks Mike!
Hi mike

I’ve tried this plugin UBD ads block… but it got error… it made my right sidebar moved downwards… guess the plugin is clash with the sidebar eh?
But, thanks for the info
@Bobby: Not bad, Bobby ;D Honestly I haven’t even checked my adsense stats in quite a while. It’s always the same - lousy ;P
@Trisna: Hiya Trisna
That’s a bit of a bummer :/ Ya might want to check to make sure there aren’t any unclosed div tags. If there are, that could potentially cause the shift with your sidebar.
If that doesn’t solve your problem, perhaps it just doesn’t get along with your theme. You could always try the second plugin I just wrote about in my latest post
