My good buddy Mark recently wrote a post about blogger burnout and I hate to admit it, but I’ve been feeling it as well. It seems to be the season for it as others I know and read have been feeling it too.

Fortunately with this blog, at least, I’m not really shackled to any specific niche so I can post just about anything and it will basically be on topic, however the past couple weeks I’ve been in that “eh, I’ll post something later” mood. Of course later ends up meaning tomorrow or two days from now.
My question to readers is, how often does blogger burnout affect you and what sorts of things do you do to break out of it? Personally I like to use the time to get around to other blogs and see what’s going on with everyone else. I’ll usually end up finding something that inspires me to write. Thanks to Mark, this time
Perhaps I just need to go on a little virtual blogger vacation. Who’d like to tag along with me?

Poor Mike, another burnout victim! I totally blame it on the weather.
I’m not having problems writing at all, I’m having trouble getting excited over the whole blogging thing like I usually do. Normally I’m a hyper freak who gets excited over everything. I couldn’t even care less about Technorati anymore, can you believe it?
I know I’ve been anti social but I still love you and your blog, I’ve been making an effort to get out there do some blog reading again.
I hope you get your mojo back soon, I’m convinced we’ll all feel better when spring hits. Hugs:)))

Hi Christy! *uberhug* I’d like to think a lot of it has to do with the weather as well. I think it’s finally supposed to start to warm up and actually look like Spring here, so maybe that will provide the kick start I need to help get me out of this blah mood
I don’t pay attention to Technorati anymore either. The site never seems to be working quite right and it’s always so sloooow.
Hey, buddy, how ’bout I buy you a tall glass of ice cold milk? We can reminisce over the golden days of blogging, when we had aspirations over playing golf and gummy babes.
Wait a minute! Those days aren’t dead!
So a break is in order, it’ll pick up I’m quite sure.

I burned out on my old blog I’d been writing since 2001 last year (it was a personal blog) and switched to topical blogging, about a specific subject. That move introduced me to some new readers and made me work harder to research and learn about issues, which made it more interesting.
I got tired of being personal online, to some degree.
There was a trend last year or so where tons of bloggers I enjoyed unblogged. That was frustrating.
Probably the lot of us just need to get outside more

Whenever i suffer from Burnout, i usually take a break for 4-5 days and during that time i visit many blogs in order to get ideas.

@Mark: I just had a tall glass of milk, but I could never refuse another ;P
@Cheryl: LOL, Yeh I would say getting outside would certainly help. Now if the weather would just cooperate
@Madhur: I’ve definitely been taking a little break. I’ll get back to it soon though
@Kavitt: Clearly mother nature must not be a blogger ;P
I just go read John Chow’s blog for a minute. I come back to my own feeling like a refreshed genius after reading his meaningless drivel…hahahaha.
I just take a guilt free break and avoid blogging altogether for a few days. Sometimes, I write morbidly grotesque articles and offensive political rants to break up the monotony. My best cure for burnout and a lack of fresh ideas is to make up some insane story that may cause people to hate me..lol
