The last man standing, sort of.

i-am-legend.jpgHave you been thinking lately it’s about time for another Will Smith blockbuster? Yeh, me too. The Pursuit of Happyness was a wonderful movie, but I’m a bigger fan of Will’s action flicks. Okay, so Wild Wild West was pretty bad, but every other action movie he’s done has been pretty darn entertaining. I Am Legend which is set to be released on the 14th of December looks like it’s definitely going to be a good one.

Robert Neville (Will Smith) is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable, and man-made. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and maybe the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. But he is not alone. — from IMDB.com

Is it just me or does every disaster always seem to strike New York City? ;) Regardless of that it sounds like it could be fun. Here’s the latest trailer for your viewing pleasure.

WWW was SO bad! This one looks pretty good though. Wasn’t it based on a book?

  2. Mike Says:

Yep, I believe it is indeed based on a book :)

I’d like to see it, but I don’t know how bad the vampires look, and I’d like to watch it when the sun is out. LOL

  4. Danielle (3 comments.) Says:

I agree that his action flicks are way better (P of H was way too sad… I can’t even watch it). This looks really good. I like when he gets to be slightly funny in his action movies. I had not yet heard about this movie… cheers!

I think WWW was based on an old TV show… wasn’t it?… and maybe the TV show was based on the book……?

Anyway, Will Smith is a TREMENDOUS actor and I can’t wait to see this film… I hope it doesn’t disappoint :)

The Richard Matheson novel comes to life! I didn’t know this was coming. I’m excited =)

Thanks for posting the trailer. Rob will adore this!

Awesome! I can’t wait!!!!! I am a Will Smith fan and definetly more for his action movies. I loved I Robot. This one looks like it maybe very good:)

    @Jenny: Scaredy cat ;P

@Danielle: I loved Pursuit of Happyness but it definitely had some pretty sad moments ;P

@Kristina: Not sure what WWW was based on. Regardless though it was pretty awful :P I Am Legend looks like it could be a winner though.

@Erina: You’re welcome :) It’s amazing the number of people that had no idea about this movie (myself included til the other day), considering how big of a star Will Smith is.

@Bobby: I liked I Robot as well. I loved the robot. He was cool :D

This movie looks great. “Twelve Monkeys” come to my mind…

  10. Mike Says:

Hey, Hernan! I thought the same thing as well. Especially when they show the scene of the animals running loose in the city :)

Wow. I’m totally watching this. I didn’t even know about it. It reminds me of 28 Days Later.. sorta. Woo! I’m anxious to watch this!

I just saw a couple other previews for this during tonights world series game… Looks awesome! My only issue with Will Smith movies is that he’s sort of a “family friendly” kind of guy, so it seems like they add a bit of cheesiness to his films. I was surprised that IRobot was as good as it was, but still could have been better if they let it be a little less… nice?

I just wonder if it will be disappointing after watching the awesome (and based on these trailers, somewhat similar) 28 Days Later… I still haven’t seen 28 Weeks Later, so don’t spoil it for me!

I have to admit I’m excited about this movie, but concerned that 2-3 hours of Will and his dog may be a bit much. We’ll see how it plays out, but I’ll still be in line to get a ticket!

LOL…that’s a pretty good concern, Brian and one I certainly thought of as well. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how it goes in December =)
