My head is going to implode.

It always seems like everyone in the neighborhood decides to mow their lawns at the exact same time. When this joyous event occurs my allergies go totally bananas. Today just so happened to be one or those days. In about T-minus two hours I should be slipping off into a Benadryl induced coma and when I awake will be in a zombie-like state for at least one full day. If you’ve ever taken Benadryl you know I’m not joking. It’s some pretty potent stuff and should only be used when absolutely necessary, like today.

What drives me nuts is how some people totally obsess over their lawns. The majority of the lawns being mowed today were already short enough to play a round of golf on, so what’s the deal? Why the need to mow them? I swear if I owned a dog I’d take it for a walk and let it leave a little “present” on each and every offending lawn.

In other news I’ve been playing around with the software that will allow me to do video tutorials. I think I’ve got it pretty well figured out. Now I’m just testing out some ways to present the videos on the blog without having to totally mess with the layout. What I’d LOVE to do is make the videos open using lightbox, just like I do with images. I found something today called iBox that will hopefully let me do that. I’m going to tinker with it later after I arise from my coma. If anyone knows of any other lightbox solutions for displaying flash video, drop me a message :)

Your lawn is fair game if you mow it when it doesn’t need to be mowed :P

I agree with you that when one person starts mowing their lawn it starts a neighborhood mow the lawn hour. I don’t know what it is, but whenever my dad hears a lawn mower he tells me to get out there and mow it. It happens at least twice a week. Our lawn looks great, I even do designs sometimes; but it is overrated and should not have to look crisp all the time. Its not a marine.

thanks for the great post and I hate it when dogs come in our yard

I think it must be some sort of male ego thing. Always gotta make your lawn look better than the guy’s next door or something ;P

I’m getting there! I want to get the new comic finished up first and then I’ll really dive into the tutorials. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful in my tests with the iBox lightbox thing, so it looks like I’ll have to just open them up in a new window. I HATE doing that, but it’s better than nothing I suppose :)

Does that mean you don’t want to mow my lawn? :)

Nooooo way…lol. If I were to actually mow a lawn I’d probably end up in intensive care for a month with severe allergic reactions :P
