A little link love - Week 26

Gummy LoveI’ve been preoccupied the last few days working on my screenplay which I swear is darn near finished now, but I still found a little time to seek out some new goodies to share in this week’s link love post. Now if I can just spare a little time to catch up on tags and memes. Sigh. Anywho, here’s some new links for you to oogle over!

  • Alternative page rank buttons - If you’re one of the many people that recently got slapped by Google in the form of lowered page rank, perhaps you’d like to display one of these buttons. My favorite is definitely the “WTF?” button.
  • Shnazzy feed icons - Getting bored of the same old RSS feed icons? Zeusboxstudio provides some great looking alternatives.
  • The Mighty Quill Award - Erina has created a new award. It’s purpose, according to Erina “is to recognize those bloggers that wield their quill for a cause. Like using a sword in battle, the recipients of this award know that a bit of ink and a plucked feather are the only things a warrior needs during combat.” She’s seeking nominations for the award. If you think you know someone worthy of the award, why not stop by and nominate them?
  • Another comic book movie? - FirstShowing.net presents their first look at a new movie entitled Wanted, starring Angele Jolie. It looks like it might be fun.
  • John August - I recently did a review over on BlogsWeLuv of screenwriter John August’s blog. John has written the screenplays to several movies including Big Fish and The Corpse Bride. If you’re someone who has interest in writing, it’s worth checking out. He provides some pretty useful information.

Fun stuff mike! Love the buttons. Hey, I still see PR4 for you, yet when I check your domain in the checker thing it says 2. Weird! There is a place in Google where you can click something to “request reconsideration” if you think your site has been unfairly lowered. In my opinion you should be at a 4 or 5!

I’m seeing a 4 right now as well. I think the data centers are just taking forever to all update to the higher page rank. I noticed today that five more of them now show the PR4 ranking. It seems to be slowly but surely going up. Sooo, we’ll see ;P

Wow, those Shnazzy feed icons are great!, Cool site. Very useful.

Hmm, like Polliwog, I’m seeing a 2 for you now also…across multiple data centers. Maybe Google isn’t done switching things around. Now I’m getting a bit nervous…perhaps my 4 will drop. But I’m sure you’ll move back up to 4. I don’t see how you couldn’t. They’re obviously still shuffling things around.

Anyway, and as always, nice links you chose. Got some good reading ahead of me now! :)

    Shine on,
    Aaron

Yep, it’s indeed back to a 2 now. It looks like it’s going to stay there as well. Google hates me :|

Well, if that turns out to be the case, know this…the rest of us love you! :) And we’re the ones visiting, not Google. P
