Me vs Trent Reznor – Revisited
Oct 7, 2008 Music

Quite a while ago, I posted a semi-complete remix I created of the song called The Great Destroyer by Trent Reznor. It was okay, but as with all music I create, I have a habit of constantly nitpicking at it until I’m eventually at least marginally happy. My Great Destroyer remix was of course no exception to my nitpicking habit.
The past several days I’ve spent a dozen hours or so adding about a minute to the length of the track, making it feel much more complete. I think for the most part I’m now happy, though I’ll probably pick at it again at some point. If you’re a fan of Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails, feel free to click the play button below to hear my remix.
Eventually I plan to remix more of Trent Reznor’s music. I haven’t quite decided which song I’ll do next though. I’d really love to remix Hurt, though I don’t think Trent has ever released the proper files for remixing or even given permission to do so.

nice remix…but why don’t you really CREATE some music instead of remixing. Pick up an instrument…learn how to play it…and write/play whatever compels you. Not to sound harsh…but is what you did really creative?

Actually smarty pants, I’ve been a guitarist and musician for more than 20 years and have indeed created plenty of original music and have indeed posted some of it here in the past. I’m guessing you’re just one of those internet trolls that goes around pretending to be all high and mighty?
I find remixing fun and do it as a change of pace. All of my remixes feature plenty of original melodies and beats. Of course, you should have recognized that being the expert on creating original music.
Thanks for stopping by. Now go troll elsewhere.

I’m guessing you typed that while sitting in your underpants in your parent’s basement, right Beau? Lemmee guess. You are probably in your late 20’s-early 30’s and you have a degree in “art history.” Your mother buys all your clothes for you and your workplace has a sign out front that says “Billions and billions served.”
Look, when we need to change the oil in the french fry machine, we’ll kick you in the ass for your opinion.

This remix is really good. Have you uploaded it to the NIN remix site yet?

@Neroli: Thank you =) I’ve actually tried to upload it there, but each time I try to log in there’s some sort of site error. I’ll probably try it again soon though.

I really, really like this.
By the way, my friends (ololol mccain), the only reason I can find for someone to accuse another for being “unoriginal” or not actually creating something is bascially a poor soul who cannot create something themselves.
I guess the world needs its critics.
Also, the remix actually takes me back. This used to be all a remix was. Simple, a change. Not much, but if it’s done well, then it’s great.
I enjoy it.

Really nice remix, lots of effort goes into a remix that some people just dont understand. Can you post some links to your other achievements?
