Yesterday afternoon my cousin John stopped by for what was supposed to be an evening filled with Halo 2 online, fragging away at and trash talking all the goofy little ten year olds. We were having a blast for about an hour until John got a call on his cellphone. It was his wife, frantic and in tears begging him to come home immediately. She was home alone in their computer room surfing the web when suddenly she heard voices in another room of the house. One of them said something like “Hi….hello?”, at which point one of their two dogs (a boxer) went ballistic barking and carrying on like crazy. He never does this when someone stops by that he’s familiar with. He gets a little excited but he doesn’t go bonkers. Needless to say that only further scared the crap out of John’s wife.
Here’s the odd and spooky thing. She never heard anyone enter or leave the house and in fact all the doors were locked except for one side door. John went home and searched the entire house (including the basement) and found no one and no signs of entry anywhere. The whole time he was doing this his wife was in another room in tears, scared to death. John even called the police and had them do a search. They also found nothing.
There was no television turned on and no one outside. John’s wife is a pretty level headed woman and wouldn’t just simply make up a story like this. Something genuinely spooked her. John’s a big believer in the paranormal, so naturally after finding no one in the house his thoughts shifted to the possibility of someone not quite so human. I don’t know what I think but I know his wife and I know she wouldn’t completely freak out like that unless she really did hear something.
Spooky, eh?

Spooky indeed! As you know, I’ve had my own experiences with the paranormal. I don’t think you ever get used to it. I would have been freaking out for sure, and I’d want to move. hehe.
Woah. That it nutz. Thank goodness for the dogs being there. I mean, who knows what it was but at least she wasn’t totally alone.
I have to email you on this one Mike!
I confess. It was me. As I indicated on the about page of BlogWeLuv, I noted that I’m that creepy sound in the next room. I normally don’t say anything, but when I heard the dogs in the next room, I myself got a little freaked out and said, “Hello?”
Please convey my apologies to John’s wife. Had I known the connection, I would have chosen one of your loud neighbors instead. :D
Sometimes, there are things that just can’t be explained. That kind of stuff used to happen at my old house ALL the time. My cat would freak out.
@Tish: If it happens any more I’m sure his wife will want to move as well..hehe. She’s really afraid of things like that.
@Bush: Yeh, definitely. Although their dogs are more likely to lick and slobber someone to death than anything else ;P
@Mark: Stop scaring my family :P
@Angela: Cats seem to have a way of sensing things like that. It’s a little creepy when they’ll just sit there staring at something you can’t see :P
geeeeeeee this is real spooky ….. was it Mark for real??? or the mystery still stands??
It often travels tele-cinetically, via brain waves. You sure you didn’t radiate any Gummy Vibes to her through John’s brain?
Very spooky indeed!
@Rita: LOL…no it wasn’t really Mark. Not that I know of :P
@Jos: I don’t think I’m quite that talented ;)
LOL
I didn’t do it. Nobody saw me do it. You can’t prove anything! ;)
Maybe it was Santa Claus or The Blog Fairy. I hear they both get around. :-)
I think this story will certify me as a bad person, but here goes. it makes me die laughing each time I think of it. When my grandmother turned 70 about 5 years ago, I bought her her very first computer. One day, we were chatting on Yahoo! I think it was and I turned on the Mic and started saying “hellooo” and stuff. She about passed out. She had no idea voices could come out computers like that. And another time I did the doorbell sound on MSN and she kept getting up to see who was at her door. Now, I adore my grandma and I’m her favorite and I’d do anything for her, but sometimes that mischevious mood stikes you know?!
LOL…my grandmother would be the same way, Polli :P She hasn’t quite caught up with technology yet..hehe.
Scary indeed. I have had a few run-ins with unexplainable sounds / entities.
Gives me goosebumps for sure!
