So of course the new Mors Principium Est stuff has found its way to the internet before the album has been released. Being the HUGE fan I am I couldn’t resist the temptation. I just had to hear it. It’s feckin’ awesome. The only letdown is that there’s 11 tracks and 3 of them are rather bland instrumentals. The first one being the intro which is only about 30 seconds long. The other eight tracks kick large amounts of ass though. My favorite would have to be “The Animal Within” with it’s techno style opening (featuring a really lush female lead) and exotic melodies. Can’t wait to get my hands on the CD. I believe the Japanese release is supposed to have some bonus tracks. That would be the one to get.

Sooo, the last couple days my hard drive had started acting up. It would click once, start going nuts like it’s loading something and then everything would freeze. That certainly is never a good sign, so I went and bought a new 320 gig drive at Staples to replace it. I spent all night reinstalling everything and then finally decided I need to see if I can get the old 120 gig drive to work long enough in order to salvage some files. I hooked it up as a slave drive and managed to move files around, burn dvds, etc with no problem whatsoever. It hasn’t made a peep since I reinstalled it as a slave. Maybe the trouble with it has gone dormant, I don’t know, but it’s kind’ve annoying that I just spent $150 on a new drive and now the old one has decided to play nice. Ahhh well I guess I’ve got 440 gig of hard drive space until the old one decides to start acting up again.

Now I’m wide awake after sleeping most of the night before going on the reinstall-fest. Iris needs to come back online and play with me :|

I just stumbled upon these guys earlier this morning. I guess you could say it’s a cross between Power Metal and Prog Metal. They’re quite good. There’s a nice mix of both clean and aggressive vocals. Apparently they’re in the process of working on a new album right now. It’ll be interesting to hear what they do next, since the stuff I’ve heard this morning is excellent and shows tons of promise.
