If you’re into progressive death metal like I am, you need to give these guys a listen. I read somewhere that they don’t have a label yet. If that’s true that’s insane. Someone out there needs to wise up and ink these guys. Truly impressive music.

I read one review that compared them to Textures. While I agree there are some similarities I think Obsidian has plenty of their own thing going on as well. Check them out though if you enjoy bands like Textures, Meshuggah, and so on.

Sooo, last night I played in a $2,500 tournament on Pokerstars. I was able to buy into it with the frequent player points I’ve accumulated from playing so much at Stars. There were 558 players in the tourney. I ended up finishing 5th and winning $132. Not bad for a free tourney I’d say. I probably could’ve finished higher but in my last hand I was up against a guy who had been bluffing all night with crappy cards. It figures the one time he’s not bluffing is when I end up in a hand with him. Ahh well. It was a good experience. There were some really excellent players in the game.
