Apparently I slept through a tornado

So I received an e-mail from my dear friend Erin. She actually sent it many hours ago while I was in one of my little allergy medicine induced comas. Her brother was watching the Weather reports and heard there was a tornado heading in the general direction of my little town, so she wanted to warn me. Waking up several hours later and finding out you possibly slept through a tornado is interesting. The first thing I did was look outside to make sure my apartment complex was still located where it’s supposed to be. It seemed to be and everything looked intact, so I guess the storm must’ve just brushed by this area.

This wouldn’t be the first time I’ve slept through a tornado though. When I just a wee lad a pretty decent sized tornado rolled through the tiny town I lived in which is located an hour or so north of here. That one however didn’t just brush by the area. It was a direct hit and pretty much obliterated a lot of homes and businesses, all while I was sleeping. I guess you can add sleeping through violent weather to my list of talents.

Anyone else have a talent for sleeping through severe weather?

No, I can’t say I did that. I did once sleep through my final exams in my first year in college!LOL We don’t get many tornadoes here on the Mississippi gulf coast. I did get to experience hurricane Katrina at point blank range though. That was a storm that would wake up the dead:)

I have family down there in Mississippi that experienced it as well. I’m sure I could find a way to sleep through it ;P

We don’t usually get many tornadoes here at all. Once every now and then and they’re not often very large. That one years ago was definitely rare for this area. It left quite a mess behind.

Never had the opportunity to sleep through tornadoes, but if it starts storming and lightning, better believe I’m gonna get to bed because I’m gonna get a GREAT sleep. Glad your apartment complex wasn’t destroyed with you in it Mike.

A good strong thunderstorm will put me to sleep quicker than a double dose of nyquil.

First of all, can I have some of your allergy medicine? lol.

I hear everything going on, no way I could sleep through a storm, last night I got woken up by my cat fighting in the backyard and had to go break it up….which was no easy task….lol. I wish I had the talent to block out noise!

I’m really glad you didn’t blow away Mike, that really would have sucked! :)
