The Dark Knight

Anyone else looking forward to this as much as I am? Christopher Nolan did a fantastic job with Batman Begins. It was so dark. I can’t wait to see his next installment.

Personally I think Christian Bale is the best Batman so far. The guy is great in nearly every role he plays. I really like the casting of Heath Ledger as the Joker as well. I think he’s going to be excellent.

THAT was Heath Ledger? I never really cared for him, but this role make put him back on the list. It’s funny, when I first heard the voice it almost sounded like Jim Carrey, which of course did Riddler in one of the other movies. Wasn’t his best performance, in fact, I think he would make for an excellent Joker. But we’ll see how this Heath fellow does.

And I agree with you that Christopher has done an excellent job with the Batman role.

not to mention he’s hot as shit. Ya know, that version of joker reminds me of the one from the newer cartoon (that I don’t think is even on anymore). AND that may be Heath Ledger, but he looks and sounds like Christopher Lloyd. HAHA

Bale has been my favorite actor ever since I saw American Psycho in the theater. The Machinist was a great movie too! He’s a low key actor who doesn’t frequent the “hollywood” scene like most actors. Before Batman Begins…the other Batman movies were way too campy.

I was a huge fan of Batman comics including the Dark Knight series. Thank God there’s finally a serious Batman. I agree than Nolan is a great director who wants his movies to be taken seriously…I look forward to seeing it too!

@Mark: I was never too much of a fan of Ledger either until his performance in The Patriot which I thought was quite good.

@Jenny: He does sort of look like Christopher Lloyd. I think it’s the hair..lol.

@Bobby: I just watched the American Psycho again the other night with a couple friends. That’s one of my favorite flicks. He’s freakin’ awesome in that movie. He most definitely was a psycho…lol. That whole scene where he’s yapping on and on about Huey Lewis before killing Paul Allen is hilarious and twisted all in one.

I love Christopher Nolan’s reboot of Batman. Bale also pulled off Bruce Wayne/Batman very nicely. I’m sure he’ll continue his fine work in The Dark Knight.

I know I’ve said it before somewhere but my top superheros are Spidey and Batman. Unfortunately, the movies bastardized ol’ Peter Parker so Batman is currently my number one seed.

And while I really liked Batman Begins and Bale, I haven’t really gotten excited about the Dark Knight EVEN THOUGH Joker is my favourite villian of all time (see: Killing Joke) and Heath is “hot as sh*t” (#);D

I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t like the Spiderman movies. I think they’re awful ;P

I was very skeptical when I heard Heath was going to play the Joker. But I think he’ll show everyone that he’s the real deal. I saw the 6 minute boot legged preview and he was crafty and interesting so I’m really looking forward to this movie. Also, found a list of all the mini-sites at thisDark Knight (2008) Movie Fan Lens.

Six minute preview, eh? I may have to do a little searching for that ;)

I think Christopher Nolan has a way of extracting the best out of actors, so that’s also part of the reason why I’m pretty confident Heath Ledger will do an excellent job.

Christian Bale is one of the actors that in my opinion had consistently good performance starting from playing that kid in Empire of the Sun with John Malkovich through American Psycho(my personal favourite), Shaft(didn’t like the movie very much but Bale was good again), Machinist(he’s is kinda good with psycho roles isn’t he?) to latest Batman. His acting kind of makes good movie better and not so good ones(for me at least) worth watching after all.

Did you see that Heath Ledger has died? I caught the news earlier…how tragic. I wonder if the filming is complete or if it’s in post production? Anyway, I thought I’d let you know in case you hadn’t heard.

Hey Bobby, I just heard that on the way home from work myself. I was wondering if the film had been completed too.

Yep, I heard the news an hour or so ago. Very sad indeed. He was only 28 years old.

The film is in post production right now, so I’d assume all of his parts were completed, but ya never know. There’s always overdubs and such.

Can’t believe that Ledger died. He had a daughter too. (#):(

Heath is great in the Joker role -and he did well, as criques say. It is unfortunate for his early demise huh.

@Bush: Yep, she couldn’t be more than a couple years old I’d imagine. Very sad :/

@Ronnie: Very unfortunate indeed. Sort of reminds me when Brandon Lee died during the making of The Crow. He passed away after putting in his finest performance. That may turn out to be the same with Heath Ledger.
