What the heck is going on?
As you may have noticed, the last few days this site has been loading extremely slow or not loading at all :( Sometimes it can go over for several hours each day. Obviously that’s unacceptable. I’ve set up a new web hosting account with HostGator, a much more reliable company and will hopefully be transferring this site to their servers soon. Before I can do that though I need to transfer the Thingsbymike.com domain name from the current registrar, Tucows to Godaddy. I’ve initiated the transfer process and now I’m playing the waiting game. Hopefully all will go smoothly and I won’t have any trouble getting the domain transferred, as it was originally registered by my current web hosting company (the unreliable one) when I set up my account with them. I received a response from them today saying that there shouldn’t be an issue with transferring the domain, so we’ll see.
The good news is that the LovesickAlien site is already on the new servers and it’s running nice and smooth! It may take some time for it to finish propogating around the internet before it’s visible to everyone, but I would gather by tomorrow it should be all set. It was live and visible to me within an hour today after setting up the new hosting account and pointing the domain to HostGator. I’ve never seen a domain go live that fast. I was pretty darn impressed.
Hang in there everyone. Hopefully all of this will be resolved soon :)
