A presidential time waster - politics can be fun!
I know what you’re thinking. “You’re on crack, Mike. Politics aren’t fun.” Well normally I’d agree with you. I can’t stand politicians. However the last few days I’ve found myself addicted to the site Whitehouse Countdown which features oodles of games and activities designed to generate interest in the 2008 presidential election. While their goal is to get the younger generation involved, I can see people of all ages having fun.
The first thing I did after creating my free account on Whitehouse Countdown was head for their cool little gadget called the “Candidate Maker”. There’s plenty of heads, bodies and accessories to choose from, allowing you to create your own unique presidential candidate. Here’s a quick example of what you can do with it.

Once I finished creating my candidate I decided to play a game of Whitehouse Wheelin’. The object is simple, spin the wheel and answer trivia questions related to the candidate whose head the wheel stops on. If you think you know anything about the presidential candidates, this is a fun way to test your knowledge. I didn’t do so well, however I did get this question right about Rudy Giuliani. It was a good guess.

Which each game you play, you earn W$ for your candidate’s campaign fund. W$ are the virtual currency of Whitehouse Countdown and as far as I can tell have no real monetary value. It’s all just for fun. It would be interesting though to see which candidate’s campaign raises the most W$ at the end of the year.
The nice thing about Whitehouse Countdown is although it certainly pokes a lot of fun at politics, it still seems to remain factually accurate. So what would your candidate look like? :)
