I’ve known a lot of people over the last few years that are really into World of Warcraft. I’ve never really sat down and actually checked it out though. Perhaps I will :) What are the system requirements for games like that? I haven’t updated to a new PC in the last couple years so I’m still using an Athlon 2700 processor with a so so graphics card. The card does have 256 meg of RAM though.

I’m also a big sports game fan. I’d love to be able to play in fantasy football style leagues online, as it gets really boring pummeling the computer over and over again..lol. I think I once read about about stuff like that on xbox live. Once I do end up getting 360 I may look into that.

I know I definitely DON’T want to play those games like HALO and such online. Sometimes I feel like I’m the only person on the planet that has no interest in them :P

Oooh yeah, much better. For a beginner I recommend either World of Warcraft or EverQuest 2. Both can be picked up fairly cheap, WoW is like $25. EQ2: Echoes of Faydwer box set contains the main game and all 3 expansions for around $40. Then it’s just $15 a month to fuel the addiction.

I hear ya about those price tags. The xbox360 is going on two years old now, isn’t it? It’s still $400.

I’ve been thinking I should try out online gaming and see what that’s like. I’ve never really ventured into that area of gaming. I can imagine that’s probably worlds better than just playing against the computer all the time :)

I’m a 34 yr. old gamer and I don’t have any of the new consoles yet. I did borrow a 360 for a weekend a little while ago and liked it, just can’t really afford to buy one right now. Burnout Revenge is what I played most, even though I’ve played it to death on the original xbox already, it was fun to play online against other people. Second in line was geometry wars, that was fun. The main thing keeping me out of the new consoles is the price tags. For now I’d rather just throw $15 a month at Sony or Blizzard to play an MMORPG.

I hardly use the console. My kids are the ones using it. Besides, I’m usually lurking around other blogs trying really hard not to get noticed hehe.

I’m sure it’s partly the games. Maybe if I were into all of those first person shooter style games that seem to be all the rage nowadays. I can’t stand them though. I get dizzy when I play them :(

I think it’s just the games. You just need to hunt around a bit more, there has been a bit of reconnaissance in creativity lately, but I think those games are still a bit … “predictable” in experience. You should ask Pete over at PeteCullen.net for some good recommendations.
