DC Comics opening their doors to web comic artists

Zuda ComicsI read an article yesterday that talked about a new company and website DC Comics will be launching in October called Zuda Comics. Once the doors are open they will begin accepting web comic submissions with no certain style or subject matter in mind. Imagine how interested I was to read about this! I’ve just recently gotten my cousin Jonathan involved in helping me with the writing of the Gummy comic and soon we’ll also be adding another artist, which hopefully will allow for more frequent updates. With this recent news from DC Comics our goal will most definitely be to put together the best work we can in time for the October launch of Zuda Comics.

Apparently Zuda Comics will offer year long contracts to web comic producers, basically giving them the opportunity to create their comic professionally. If you know anyone that’s ever had aspirations of creating comics or doing cartooning, pass the word along to them. This certainly sounds like a very interesting opportunity.

    Hi Mike,

I tried to contact you through your contact form but it wouldn’t work.

I saw that you joined up to evo under Mark Sierra. Do you plan on putting a post on your blog similar to the others I have seen on various blogs?
If you can refer a few people before the 15th July you will be in a good position. We will then be in pre launch after 15th July for 60 days.
If you have any questions, please drop me an email.
    Thanks

Hi Gavin. I think after reading different discussions around the web about the company behind eVo, I’m going to wait and see what their whole deal is after the 15th. I don’t like the idea of introducing my readers to any kind of MLM schemes and such =/

Hey Mike, this is a great opportunity for you man! So will we be seeing Gummy joining forces with the Justice League? ;)

Very nice opportunity for you buddy. By the way, if Gummy teams up with the Justice League, he should stay away from Hawk Girl ;)

Gummy joining the justice league could be rather interesting :P

It’s a super cool opportunity. Hopefully now with my little Gummy team assembled we can put together some really exceptional stuff over the next few months to give ourselves a chance with the whole thing :)

Oooh this is definitely interesting! I’m totally going to tell this to Dave. He’s a huge fan of DC and he creates comic book characters like crazy. :D This is awesome stuff!

Hope you’re having a great week, Mike. :)
